Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Commission Clarity also uses your browser's local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), which serves a similar purpose to cookies — storing data in your browser so the application can function.
We only use cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary for the application to work and to provide services you have explicitly requested (sign-in, subscription, connecting to Google Sheets). We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or profiling cookies.
Note: Google OAuth access and refresh tokens used to read your Google Sheets, Gmail, and Google Calendar are not stored in your browser — they are stored encrypted in our database (see the GDPR section of our Terms of Service).
2. List of Cookies and Local Storage Used
Stores your session after sign-in (JWT and refresh token). Without it you would need to sign in again every time the page loads.
Duration: until sign-out or session expiry.
A data cache (React Query) for faster page loading. It stores the most recently fetched data from your Google Sheet so the application opens instantly without re-reading it.
Duration: up to 24 hours.
A cache of full reads from your Google Sheets documents. Speeds up switching between pages and offline behavior.
Duration: up to 7 days (safety limit).
An incremental (append-only) cache for commission and appointment tables. On re-sign-in only new rows are read, which significantly speeds up loading.
Duration: up to 30 days.
Stores your subscription status so it doesn't need to be checked with Stripe on every click.
Duration: up to 24 hours (or 5 minutes near subscription expiry).
Stores your choice of sidebar display mode (hidden / icons / expanded).
Duration: persistent, until you clear storage.
Local statistics on active usage days, used to display information on your dashboard. This data stays only in your browser and is never sent to our server.
Duration: persistent, until you clear storage.
When you pay for a subscription, you are redirected to Stripe Checkout, which sets its own cookies for secure payment processing and fraud prevention. See: Stripe's cookie policy.
Duration: determined by Stripe.
When you connect Google Sheets, Gmail, or Google Calendar, Google redirects you to its own authorization page, which uses its own cookies. Signing in to Commission Clarity itself does not involve Google. See: Google's cookie policy.
Duration: determined by Google.
3. What We Do NOT Use
- Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other visitor tracking tools.
- Advertising cookies or cookies used to profile users.
- Cross-site tracking cookies.
- Sharing data about your use of the application with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Managing Cookies
Because we use only strictly necessary cookies and local storage required for the application to function, no additional consent is required under applicable law. You can still delete them at any time in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Note: if you delete cookies and local storage, you will be signed out and your preferences (e.g. sidebar mode) will be lost. The application will work normally again after you sign in.
